We are seeking to hire an Investment Analyst who will play a critical role in supporting the full investment cycle at Kua Ventures; including sourcing, screening, due diligence, deal structuring, portfolio monitoring and reporting. This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented and self-driven individual who can work independently while engaging collaboratively with founders and the investment team.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis & Execution
- Support origination, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of investments aligned with Kua Ventures’ strategy
- Conduct screening calls, desktop reviews, site visits, and in-person meetings with potential investees
- Lead financial and operational analysis, including financial modelling, valuations, and return assessments
- Prepare Screening Memos and Investment Memos for Investment Committee review
- Support the structuring of debt transactions in collaboration with the Investment Associate
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain accurate investment documentation and data across internal systems
- Engage portfolio companies to ensure the timely submission of quarterly reports
- Monitor portfolio performance against financial and impact metrics
- Prepare periodic internal performance and impact reports
Collaboration & Engagement
- Contribute to founder due diligence (leadership, values alignment, and coachability)
- Attend origination events and external stakeholder engagements as required
- Collaborate closely with the Investment Associate and actively contribute to team discussions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Specifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
2. 3–5 years’ experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, consulting, SME lending, impact investing, or similar analytical roles
3. Strong financial modelling skills (Excel / Google Sheets), including building models from scratch
4. Proven ability to assess businesses, identify risks, and evaluate growth potential
5. Experience engaging directly with business owners or clients in advisory or evaluation contexts
6. Proficiency in Google Workspace and cloud-based productivity tools
7. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
8. Valid authorization to work in Kenya
